Letter to "My own dearest little woman" from Hayne at Camp George H. Thomas in Chickmauga (Ga.). Hayne expresses how much he misses his wife and describes his regiment's trip from Columbia (S.C.) to Georgia and their camp there.

Physician. Hayne received his M.D. from the Medical College of South Carolina and began his practice in Greenville, S.C. During the Spanish-American war he was a corporal in Company D, 1st South Carolina Infantry Regiment. He was the son of Theodore B. Hayne (b. 1841) and Lilah Adams. In 1897 he married Frances D.
